Route option A

This route proposes utilising the old railway line which runs from Cosmeston Drive to Sully, crossing Fort Road and St. Mary's Well Bay Road using existing bridge infrastructure.  The route would also cross Lavernock Road at 'The Vineyard' and would require new pedestrian crossing facilities. It will provide users with a completely segregated route away from Lavernock Road.

Benefits:

The route connects directly with existing the off road active travel route that leads to and from Penarth.

Constraints:

Would require third party land acquisition and would have a high cost of construction as a completely new active travel route would need to be constructed.
